About Danielle

Danielle Ripley-Burgess is a two-time colon cancer survivor first diagnosed at age 17. She lives in the Kansas City area and blogs about cancer survivorship, faith and family. She writes and speaks to encourage those facing trials and suffering under a motto of “faith that survives.” She married her high school sweetheart, Mike, and adopted her beautiful daughter, Mae. Her personal story has been told around the world through newspaper articles, blogs, TV and radio shows including The Today Show, BBC’s World Have Your Say, Sirius Radio’s Doctor Radio, The Chicago Tribune, among others. She’s published several devotionals and articles including her book, “Unexpected: 25 Daily Advent Devotionals.” She co-wrote “The Holiday Girls” fiction stories on the Bedtime Stories app with her daughter. Danielle’s currently working on her first memoir.

“How does it feel to turn 35 years old!?” friends asked me across a conference room table earlier this week. They’re new friends, people I’ve
