If you're a lot like some of the awesome clients I've worked with, you do amazing work and hope more people will know about it. 

Copy, content and messages are important. Words matter.

If you're not sure what to say or how to say it, you may benefit from content writing.

What is content writing?

Content writing comes in all forms and fashions.

It's putting words to what you do. It's creating copy that will help you sound smart and relatable.

Why do you exist? What's your vision? How can people join you or benefit from what you offer?

These are the types of messages you need to provide. If you don't have a wordsmith on the team who lights up when asked to write, there's where I can step in.

I've provided content writing for a handful of clients for the following projects:

  • Emails for email marketing (donor appeals, invitations, etc.)

  • Website content
  • Social media campaigns

Sometimes I jump in and serve by focusing on writing content.

Other times, I project manage a project or campaign and provide the copy, too.

There's a lot of fear and anxiety about hiring a writer - what if you don't like the content? What if the writer goes over word counts? Here's how I approach this: 

  • Scope of work: Nail down what's needed for any writing begins in detail.
  • Per-project fees: I do not bill hourly or per word count, it will be one flat fee.
  • Not a good fit: I'm not the voice of everyone. Depending on the agreement, we can build in an "exit" plan so we're not locked in should we make better friends than colleagues. 

Do I freelance edit, too?

I have served as an editor on many publications and provide proofreading when I’m tasked with a content writing project. However, I’m not a designated proofreader. If you’re looking for these services, let me know. I’ve got an outstanding referral for you.

Do I do freelance social media?

I use social media often and encourage brands to use it. When creating content, I often write for the various social media platforms. I build communications strategies with digital and social in mind.

However, I do not manage social media accounts on behalf of clients. If you’re looking for a resource for this type of work, I have another outstanding referral for you.

Do I only write professional content?

Not at all – in fact my personal writing opened the door for professional writing and client work!

I am a blogger at heart and maintain active social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I’m a published devotional author and have written several articles. I published my first book in Nov. 2018, an advent devotional.

My personal writing is focused on topics relating to my survivorship: colon cancer survivor, adoption, family, and the Christian faith.
